Baby Ell | KDB Photography – Ramsey, MN Newborn Photography

December 21st, 2015

There is nothing in this world that can compare to the birth of a child. I absolutely love photographing newborns. I love meeting new parents, and hearing their birth stories. I love seeing how different couples decorate the nursery, and prepare for their new family. From their sweet baby face to their tiny little toes, babies just bring a smile to my face.

This is Ell, she is five days old and was the picture perfect newborn. This session was shot in the comfort of her home. She was happy and content the entire time. Thanks for a wonderful time Allie and Jeff. I truly enjoyed meeting you. You two are already fantastic parents!

Everything happens for a reason. At least that’s one of my life motto’s. Kristen and I had been trying to connect for a family session starting back in October. However, between her busy schedule and my busy schedule it just didn’t happen. So, we had decided to wait. Well, the day of their session it was very cold, windy and just miserable outside, it looked liked their family session was never going to happen. As fate would have it, the stars aligned and their session took place. Nature had rewarded us with the most BEAUTIFUL backdrop ever, we could not have picked a more perfect morning I would say it was the prettiest morning this winter.

Thanks Paul and Kristen for a great time, I am so happy to have been able to capture these wonderful memories and pictures for you. Enjoy the teasers.

I have lived in Minnesota all of my life, and still the weather baffles me. Last week it was 82 degrees, Sunny and beautiful, while this weekend it is 45 degrees windy and cold. I’m so thankful that my 2014 Fall Mini Sessions were held on a day with such great weather. So much time and a lot of effort goes into planning a full day of sessions, and if the weather didn’t cooperate I probably would’ve cried. Instead, I was able to meet 9 great families, and take hundreds of pictures. I really enjoyed my day, despite the mosquitos. Thank you to everyone who booked a mini sessions even if it meant you had miss part of the Vikings Game.

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful family. The light was perfect, the weather was a great Minnesota Fall evening, and the family was fun. They came for their son Jack’s senior pictures as well as some family ones. Jack is so well rounded that he is bound for success. He plays the stand up bass, and he is good. If you are in the Anoka area, I would suggest going to listen to him play. While I was going to my car to grab my chair, he was playing some music and the park seemed to come alive. It was so refreshing to hear such a great instrument being played.

Thanks for a fun evening, enjoy these memorable year with your great kids.

Those of us that have lived in Minnesota for any amount of time know that the weather can be EXTREAMLY unpredictable. Last week it was cold and close to freezing temperatures, and now this week it’s been absolutely perfect. And yesterday couldn’t have been any more perfect, especially for the first day of fall. The colors are really starting to change the sumac is a perfect shade of red, the birch trees are showing their golds, and the maples are just beginning to their change as well.

I had the opportunity to meet the Schafer family for their family pictures. What a sweet family, I really enjoyed every minute of my time with them. Hunter is so much like my own Son Tyson, it was easy to know exactly what would make him smile. He is such a great kid. And then sweet Kendell, for only being three years old, she sure was willing to have her picture taken.

Kim and Rory, thank you so much for choosing KDB Photography. It was an honor to capture these images for you. Enjoy the sneak peek.

I have been looking forward to seeing Karla and Corey for a few months. Their little family has grown over the years, and again I have been honored to be in charge of capturing those special moments. I shot their session last week and one of my favorite parks in the St Francis area. It is such a great little park with so many great spots. The main challenge is not stepping in all the goose poop.

Estelle and Mary Grace are two very sweet little girls who have a sense of energy and adventure. For a One and Three year old, I couldn’t ask for more cooperative little girls. Estelle was very happy to help make her sister smile. I don’t expect that Karla and Corey get much done besides chasing after these two, but that is one of the fun parts of this stage in your life. Playing with your babies, and I know you do.

Thanks for a very fun session. I’m glad the rain didn’t ruin our time. Enjoy the sneak peek, the gallery will be done very soon.

This time of year is always so bitter sweet. Summer is coming to an end, however, the days are still long, the weather is usually great, and a new school year is closing in. Which means my calendar fills up with senior portrait sessions.

Last week Eric came out to the farm for his senior pictures. What a great cooperative kid. I know from experience that senior boys typically aren’t that thrilled to have their senior pictures done. I try to work fast and keep the session moving, and the boys usually appreciate that. So Eric, thank you for being so willing to get in all these great shots. I wish you the best of luck for your Senior Year.

I have been trying to blog this family session from two weeks ago, but time just keeps getting away from me. So tonight, while their gallery is uploading, I’m blogging.

Tony and Megan have been LONG time loyal customers, and it really is an honor to see them every year. I am so happy to have been a part of some very important memories for them. Their family continues to grow and change. The girls (and Roxy the lab) are growing up and it’s so much fun to literally play with them during our session. Last fall little Eleanor (and Roxy) didn’t want anything to do with pictures, but this time, she was much more into it (Eleanor not Roxy, I think the dog was just hot). And Josephine, well, I can only remember one time when she didn’t want to have her picture taken. She comes ready to be my model every time. She is such a great big sister, and so full of smiles.

Thanks again for a wonderful morning and the cheesecake you made Megan was delicious. You have my cake business!

My blog has been a bit neglected, and it’s not because of lack of sessions. I think having my Facebook business page, just makes it too easy to forget about blogging. However, my goal is to try to blog a bit more the end of this summer and fall.

I can’t think of a better way to start blogging again, than by sharing pictures from tonight’s Senior Session with Emily. She is such a wonderful well rounded girl. I really could have continued her for hours. And, if you’ve ever had a session with me, you know that “one more”, never means one more. I was so happy that Emily didn’t mind.

Good luck with YOUR senior year Emily and with your upcoming Volleyball Season (Go HUSKIES). You will do great things! #classof2015 #seniorgirlsrock
