I am Kati Berwald owner and photographer of KDB Photography. I am a Mother of three wonderful children who have provided me with so many opportunities over the years, I will never be able to thank them enough.  I am married to my High School Sweetheart, he has been there with me each step of the way.  For that I am very greatful.

Whether it’s an itty bitty newborn baby, or a family of five, I go into every session with a lot of enthusiasm and creativity.  I am taking more than just a picture, I am creating art that you will want to hang in your home forever.  I look forward to capturing your life and your memories!

KDB Photography specializes in fine art portrait photography.  When you choose KDB Photography, you will receive art that will hang in your home forever.

After many weeks of waiting, this past weekend was finally our weekend to bring home our little Reggie, he is a Black & White Tri colored, Cocker Spaniel. He has fallen right into place in our busy house, and is loved to pieces. As I type this blog post he is laying on my toes, which I’m sure he will do often.

I couldn’t wait to bring him into the studio to get some shots of him. I’m very thankful Tyson came with to help, otherwise I don’t think I would’ve been able to get a single shot of this little guy. Or at least not one with his eyes open. Reggie thought the studio was pretty cool, and about 20 minutes into the “session” he was just SO sleepy. He was just like a little newborn letting me pose and move him around.

So here he is, and yes I know picture overload, but he’s SO cute!!!

And this isn’t from the studio, but I just love this shot, Tyson is truly SO happy to have Reggie. After Yogi died the boy was pretty sad. I think He and Reggie will go on many adventures, and I’m sure they will both come back dirty and a story to tell!!

Today I spent the day looking back at all of my session from 2011. I can’t believe the year went by so fast, it seems like only a few weeks ago sweet Addison was here for her one year session, but se was acutally my first session of 2011!! KDB Photography really did have a fantastic year, I saw a lot of familiar faces and a lot of new ones as well. Every sessions was just as unique as the family, we had many laughs, a few tears, and a lot of smiles. I have to say that my most memorable moment from a 2011 was from a session w/ two little boys. I had them jump off a log and run toward me, well, they didn’t stop once they got to me, the proceeded to tackle me and I’m pretty sure I got licked on the face. It makes me laugh just thinking about it. Oh what I won’t do for the shot.

If you had a session with me in 2011, I would just like to say thank you for choosing me to capture a little piece of history for your family. With so many choices out there for photographers, I truly am greatful for all of my wonderful clients. You have helped make KDB Photography what it is today. I look forward to many great sessions in 2012.

Sometimes timing is everything, which was the case this past Saturday. The stars were aligned and things worked out so that I was able to shoot Katelyns newborn session at her house. While I was there we did a little lifestyle family stuff. Big Brother Dylan as always, and I do mean always a ball of energy. I have been photographing him since he was one, and everytime he is on the move. He reminds me so much of my now 9 year old son Tyson, from his energy to his tantrums, it’s who they are.

Kids go through their stages of life so quickly that sometimes while our kids are in a certain stage we can’t wait for them to move on and get to that next stage, meanwhile we are missing who they are that day. So having these little reminders of a certain face or certain toys really is a time capsule in the making. One day we will look back at these moments and wonder where the time went.

So enjoy part one of this two part blog post. I truly had a fantastic time Erik and Emily. You have two wonderful kiddos!

I want to start off by saying, I haven’t been hiding under a rock it was just a CRAZY busy fall. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep up w/ the blogging from here on out. My newborn session from tonight with Jared, Ashley & Glen is the perfect session to start the blog rolling again.

Meet Glen, five days old and just perfect in every way. I have had a lot of newborn sessions and they have all been truly wonderful, but Glen’s session was honestly my best newborn session ever. He slept like a rock from the time he got here until the time we were done. Jared and Ashley I hope he didn’t keep you up all night as payback. It’s those sleepless nights that make us appreciate those little babies that much more. Enjoy the sneak peek, I look forward to sharing them all with you guys.

This little Carhart hat was just the cutest little thing.

I don’t know where the last two years went! Jack has turned into such a little boy. We went up to the farm where I knew there would be a lot of fun boy things for him to climb on and around. He was really into the old three wheeler and his tractor. Thanks for the great session! Enjoy the peek.

Sweet little Oliver was back this week for his one year session. I really don’t know where the last six months have gone, but when I figure it out I’ll be sure to let the rest of you know. Oliver was just as handsome this time as he was the last time, and stole my heart one more time. His baby blue eyes had that same sparkle as did his sweet smile. Thanks for the fun session, enjoy the peak! Kati
