Today I spent the day looking back at all of my session from 2011. I can’t believe the year went by so fast, it seems like only a few weeks ago sweet Addison was here for her one year session, but se was acutally my first session of 2011!! KDB Photography really did have a fantastic year, I saw a lot of familiar faces and a lot of new ones as well. Every sessions was just as unique as the family, we had many laughs, a few tears, and a lot of smiles. I have to say that my most memorable moment from a 2011 was from a session w/ two little boys. I had them jump off a log and run toward me, well, they didn’t stop once they got to me, the proceeded to tackle me and I’m pretty sure I got licked on the face. It makes me laugh just thinking about it. Oh what I won’t do for the shot.

If you had a session with me in 2011, I would just like to say thank you for choosing me to capture a little piece of history for your family. With so many choices out there for photographers, I truly am greatful for all of my wonderful clients. You have helped make KDB Photography what it is today. I look forward to many great sessions in 2012.

Dreaming of Summer – KDB Photography Give Away March 5th thru March 16th, 2011.

We have been having what seems to be a never ending Winter. I don’t think I’m the only one who is dreaming of the warm Summer days ahead. So to end those winter blues KDB Photography is running a HUGE give away.

Beginning March 5th, email me one of your own Summer snap shots and in a few words tell me what your favorite Minnesota summer activity is. I know mine is spending the weekends at our family camper on Bad Medicine Lake, whether it’s watching my kids being pulled on the tube, riding the wakeboard, sitting around the campfire, or playing a classic game of “Trouble”, you just can’t go wrong. Summer weekends Up North are priceless. So what’s yours?

I will look at all entries, and will narrow them down to my favorite top 10. I will post those top 10 on my Facebook Fan page. The entry with most “likes” will win the complimentary session from KDB Photography and a $350 KDB gift certificate.

All submissions MUST be received by 11:59 p.m. on March 10th. I will post the top 10 to my Facebook Fan page on Saturday March 12th. Voting will begin on the 12th and will end Wednesday, March 16th at 8 p.m. CST. The entry with the most “likes” at 8 p.m. on the 16th will win the session and the $350 KDB gift certificate. The winner will be announced on my Blog after all the “likes” have been tallied.

Here’s how to enter. Email your story and snap shot to kati@kdbphotos.com, before 3-10-11 it’s that easy! Then check out KDB Photography’s Facebook Fan page for the top 10. If you are not a fan of KDB Photography on Facebook, click this link to bring you to my Facebook page click the “like” button on the top. Once you are a fan, then you can go ahead and like your favorite entry. Tell your friends and family to like KDB Photography so they can “like” your entry too!!

Deadlines:
KDB must receive all submissions by 11:59 p.m. 3-10-11
Voting will end at 8 p.m. CST on 3-16-11

Rules:
The prize has no cash value.
Any person over 18 years of age can enter.
One entry per household.
The session needs to be completed by June 30th 2011.
The session will be at a location(s) around the St. Francis/Anoka Area.
KDB will contact the winner to schedule the session.
The session will be for immediate family members only.
Additional prints and products will be available at regular studio prices.
Any contestant suspected of cheating will be disqualified. Let’s keep it FUN, cheaters are Lame.
Any submission received without a picture will be disqualified.

I am looking for 2-3 newborn models between 5-18 days old as of April 15th.

The session will be free and will include one digital image. Additional images may be purchased at regular studio pricing.

Please call 612-226-1713 or email kati@kdbphotos.com if you or someone you know is expecting or just had a baby. This is such and exciting opportunity and I’m very excited about the results.

The purpose of the session will be to capture a few new poses. I will be using these images on my blog and website. A signed model release will be required. If time and the baby permit we will do additional set ups and poses.

I do have a variety of hats, bowls baskets and blankets, however, if you have something special you would like to incorporate, please bring it along. A great place to find adorable hats and head bands is www.etsy.com. Search newborn hats or newborn headbands and the options will be endless.

The one and only Santa Claus made an appearance at my St Francis Studio tonight. The kids were all very excited to tell him what they wanted for Christmas (well the ones that could talk anyway). The little ones, were more cautious of Old St. Nick, but I still managed to get a picture of everyone with Santa! I still have one opening this Saturday, I would love to fill it. I had tears in my eyes watching these kids with Santa. It was truly a joy that made my heart melt!

The unofficial kick-off to summer begins this Friday here in St. Francis, Pioneer Days 2010. Last year, I had so much fun meeting so many wonderful people, that I wasn’t going to let the opportunity pass to do it again.

My booth will be filled with a lot of great samples and displays and Roger (Our Family Turtle for the Turtle Races). I’ll also be holding a few different contests and having some fun games for the kiddies. So if you’re going to be around St. Francis June 12th or 13th, come and swing by Community Park and say hi. While you are there, take a guess at home many Skittles are in the jar. Below is a sneak peek. If you can’t make it to the park this weekend, feel free to leave a guess under the comment section here on my blog. The person who guesses the correct number (or the closest) will receive a jar of skittles, how awesome is that. Okay I’m kidding, but the winner will receive a complimentary photo session. If there is a tie, then we will have a skittle eating contest, or maybe we’ll just draw out of a hat. I will announce the winner on Monday, June 14th.

And here is Roger (or Kevin). My kids seem to think he looks like one of those two names, LOL. So maybe a combo of them both like Rovin or Keger, then again I’m not sure he is a he. Either way, Roger is a pretty fast turtle. Racing runs in his blood, and his ancestors have won many turtle races in the past. Let’s hope Roger is up for the challenge. The turtle races start at 11 a.m. so get there early, you don’t want to miss Rogers big debut!!

One of my goals for 2010 was to update and create a new blog.  Well, we are only 1 month down for 2010 and that is one thing I can check off my to-do’s.  I have a lot of great things planned for 2010 and I can’t wait to share them all with you.

Here is a sneak peek of one of the new products I’m offering for 2010.  They are 5×7 dream boxes and come filled with either 12 or 24 mounted 5×7 prints.  These are beautiful boxes and look great on any coffee or end table.
